Your blogs are funny. I was going to comment on the toothbrush story, but I don't want to get into trouble. Hee-hee! (That's my evil laugh!) Now, what was it I wanted to say about the bank accounts? Oh yes! Sharing bank accounts is the only way we do it. We don't even consider individual accounts, but I know married couples who have them. My friend, Amy, has her own account because she wants one. I don't really understand it, but I think it makes her feel independent as she's traded in her archaeology boots for mom sneaks. I suspect that most couples who have separate accounts do it because it is the easiest thing to do. Nothing is really expected of your spouse. Shared accounts require communication, trust, and a risk of vulnerability, among other things. Naturally, motive is the key issue. You certainly don't want shared accounts because your spouse doesn't trust you, and there are couples who have individual accounts simply because your spouse DOES trust you. As usual, the issue is not really black or white.
